How to Contact the Ombuds
Zoom – please use the scheduling link or email address of the Ombuds staff below (you do not have to use your UCSC email address for this – more information below). If you would like to meet outside of normal business hours listed in the scheduling link please use email – and refrain from sharing any specific details about your concerns.
Phone – please call 831-459-5856 and be prepared to leave a voicemail with your name, phone number, and your availability (dates/times) to schedule a phone meeting. Please only use voicemail for scheduling and refrain from sharing specific details about your concerns.
In-Person – please use the email address of the Ombuds staff below to share your availability (dates/times) to meet in-person and if you would like to meet in the Office of the Ombuds on the 4th floor of McHenry Library or somewhere else. Meet the Staff

Anthony Keen-Louie, Associate Ombuds
Anthony (he/him/his) is a seasoned student affairs professional and mediator, having served in multiple roles on multiple campuses. Including, most recently, UC San Diego where he served for 8 years in residential life leadership roles supporting inclusive student community development with initiatives for student residents, including graduate students and students with dependents.
Anthony has a master’s degree in Dispute Resolution from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, and is a mediator, trainer and group format mediator with the National Conflict Resolution Center. He also has a master’s degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UC Riverside.
Anthony served as a board member of the UCSD Staff Association, Co-Chair of UCSD’s Chancellor’s Advisory Council on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues and the inaugural Coordinator of The Pride Center for San Diego State University. He also has taught at ‘Mediation: Theory & Practice” course at USC Gould School of Law. Anthony has a passion for helping universities support inclusive spaces for students, evidenced by his career in higher education.

De Acker, University Ombuds
De Acker (she/her/hers) comes to UC Santa Cruz with more than three decades of UC experience. She served as director of the UC Santa Barbara Women’s Center for 12 years before joining UC Merced to serve as the assistant dean of the School of Natural Sciences.
After founding the campus’s first ombuds office, she went on to establish the UC Merced Office of Campus Climate, which coordinated campus diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
De also served as a staff advisor to the UC Board of Regents from 2014-2016.
